The Luxury Car Rating:
Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG – four stars
With a powerful V12 engine, seat heaters, and a luxurious interior, the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is as good as it gets. Its performance is as fast as you would expect from a luxury car, and with a 5.5-liter engine, it’s powerful too. The only thing that lets the Mercedes down is its price – at almost $200,000 for this top-of-the-range model, it’s not cheap. [The funniest part is when the guy in the video says “This is not a $200K car” LOL]
Ferrari 488 – four stars
With a base price of $234,700, this Ferrari is even more expensive than the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG. This vehicle is particularly renowned for its acceleration and its handling capabilities. Despite having less horsepower than the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG it has more torque, helping it get out of tight spots almost immediately. With an 8-speed automatic transmission, 60% of its settings are controlled by driver input. This makes driving a Ferrari 488 a very memorable experience.
Rolls-Royce Phantom – four stars
At $339,850 you’ll find the Rolls-Royce Phantom is quite the luxurious car for someone with an average budget. Even so, it’s still one of the most expensive cars available in the world. It uses a 6.75-liter V12 engine to help get you from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 211 mph. However, it does have a few things that could be improved upon by its buyers, such as its poor handling capabilities and relatively slow acceleration.
Lamborghini Aventador – four stars
In the Lamborghini Aventador, you’ll find a monstrous 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 750 horsepower and will make you feel like you’re driving a jet plane. It is incredibly fast and can reach speeds of up to 217mph in just 3.2 seconds. The only downside is the price – at over $400,000 this luxury car isn’t quite as affordable as many other options.
Rolls-Royce Ghost – four stars
The Rolls-Royce Ghost is the cheaper alternative to its larger brother – the Rolls-Royce Phantom. At $295,000, this luxurious vehicle is still extremely expensive. It has a 6.6-liter V12 engine that produces 563 horsepower and is considered to be one of the fastest cars on the market. Not only that, but it also has a smooth ride quality which will make you feel like you are floating on air as you drive it. The only thing letting this car down is its acceleration at 0 to 60 mph. It takes 4.9 seconds – about half a second longer than average.
Audi R8 V12 – four stars
The Audi R8 V12 is a supercar that’s not as powerful as some other options on the market, but it still has a lot going for it. At only about half the price of some other luxury cars, at $200,000, you’re getting a lot for your money. For example, apart from the fact that this car is incredibly fast and fun to drive, it also comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and takes 3.2 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. This makes it the perfect car for everyday driving if you want to feel like a rock star.
Lamborghini Huracan – three-and-a-half stars
Do you want to own a luxury supercar but don’t want to spend the money on such an extravagant purchase? The Lamborghini Huracan is your answer. The base price of this vehicle is $237,000, which is slightly lower than other luxury cars on the market. It produces 650 horsepower and takes just over 3 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. Despite its lower price and power, it feels and drives like a much more expensive car than it actually is.
Audi A8 – three-and-a-half stars
Another extremely popular luxury car is the Audi A8. The base price of this vehicle is $196,500 and it comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which helps you accelerate even quicker than other cars on the market. It has a V10 engine that produces 400 horsepower. The only downside to this car is its slow acceleration – it takes almost 4 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph. But despite this shortcoming, it’s still one of the most luxurious cars on the market.
BMW 760Li xDrive – three-and-a-half stars
The BMW 760Li xDrive is extremely popular for its high levels of luxury and performance. It has 8-speed automatic transmission and produces 500 horsepower. The car feels incredibly powerful and smooth, giving you the sense that you are floating on air as you drive it. The only thing it’s missing is acceleration – at 4.8 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, it’s slower than average. But if you can live with that, you’re getting one of the most luxurious cars on the market.
